CPA MYTHS DEBUNKED

  • Hiring a CPA is Expensive

With the CPA designation comes a trusted advisor, and those services come at a cost.  However, we feel that our firm is priced to appeal to all individuals regardless of income levels.  Initial consultations are always free, at which time we can analyze your specifics and discuss a fee for services.

  • I Can Do My Taxes Myself

The IRS states that the number of self-prepared tax returns is on the rise.  While you may think it's a good idea to attempt to prepare your taxes yourself, the truth is by doing so you run the risk of missed opportunities to minimize your tax liability just for the simple reason that you didn't know the laws.  CPAs, on the other hand, are required to attend a substantial number of continuing education courses and tax updates on a regular basis, 120 hours every 3 years to be exact!

  • My Business is Too Small for a CPA

This couldn't be farther from the truth.  It is essential for EVERY business, regardless of size, to have a trusted advisor.  We customize our services to meet your specific needs.  If you think your budget won't allow a CPA on your side, call us for a free initial consultation.

  • CPAs Are Just Number Crunchers

CPAs do more than work with numbers.  While math has a lot to do with our work, there's way more to it.  CPAs take the meaningless data that goes into your accounting software and transforms that data into knowledge and wisdom.  Your business can then make well-informed decisions that not only have an impact today, but for many years to come.

  • CPA v. Non-CPA

We get asked this question often!  CPAs are in it for the long haul and in fact one of our firm's goals is to create long-lasting relationships with all of our clients.  Also, we have a wealth of education to back us, along with real world experience.

"The hardest thing in the world to understand is income taxes."  -Albert Einstein.
